Oh Quilt Fairy...

Dear Quilt Fairy:

I was searching my closet for something spring-y to photograph the girls on.  Hmmm...  A yellow towel, nah...     Purple?  could be nice but, what?  Hm?  Oh, check my front porch you say?  OH MY!  That's JUST what I had in mind!

xox- Thank YOU Shere!  You're amazing and spoil us so much!

Now if this rain/cold would pass and our spring sunshine could return so I can get photos in spring attire too!!!  Stay tuned...   ;)

P.S. I know you can't really see it in these photos, but the quilting on this is rocking horses with little clovers around the edge.  ROCKING HORSES! Could it be any cuter?!?

Happy Girl, Happy Mom!

Happy Girl: Jillian is such a happy girl.  She loves helping her Mommy and Daddy, loves being a big sister, and is learning/doing/experiencing new things all the time.  I love how well she is able to communicate, and what an insight this gives us into her little world.  She's just so darn cute.
Happy Mom:  My friend Kelly suggested these cups (pictured below), and despite a tumultuous beginning with them, we really like them.  I just wanted to share my review with you other Moms out there, in case you're in the market for such a thing...  They are made by Contigo (LINK) and they are a no spill option for when your kids are done with sippy cups.  There's a button on one side that your child pushes (this requires a little bit of strength/dexterity so I'd say these are good for kids near 2.5 years and up) which opens a valve to release the liquid.  They really are no spill, easy to wash, dishwasher safe, and cute too!  ;)

Here's what made our experience with them less than perfect though...  There's a little tab on the rim of each cup that keeps the lid from tightening too much and being difficult to take off.  The problem is when the cup fell onto the ground (twice in one day!) the lid popped right off, and the drink went everywhere.  During one of the spills, the little tab I described above broke off.  I was thinking I would not really be able to use these cups anyway since they were unable to take a tumble, but ended up checking to see if the broken cup was still leak proof.  Turns out, without the tab, the lid was able to tighten more and now it works better!!!  So, Ryan broke off the rest of the tabs, and we have not had a problem since.  So, if you get the cups, and find (like we did) that the top can come off if dropped, cut off those little tabs and you'll be thrilled with the product!

Happy spill proof traveling!

St. Pat!

Hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day!  We sure did.  I found these shirts:
at Old Navy on sale for $2.50!  Cute, cute...  I really do love the girls in matching outfits & hair bows!

Here's our whole family dressed up and ready to head out and celebrate with local friends:
Top O' the Irish to you!  Did Ye wear a wee bit of the green today??  :)

The weather is getting so nice!

Can I tell you how excited Jillian was to be outside with bare feet?!  Or, as she would put it with,  "naked bath time feet?!"  Oh boy, it's been a long winter, and we're ready for spring!

RSV....P?

So, on Wednesday of last week I brought our girls to the doctor because they had been exposed to RSV and both had cold like symptoms.  I thought for sure it would just be a cold (since neither of them seemed to be too sick) but alas...  While I was in the office, my friend Heather called and I announced to her- "I can't believe it, my kids have RSVP!"  (Failure to respond promptly?!) haha...  RSV/RSVP, you can see the confusion! (I hope!) ;)

On Friday, I went back because Liv seemed a little worse, and we would rather be safe than sorry.  Since the weekend was approaching our Dr. went ahead and gave us a breathing treatment to bring home in case she needed it.  We've only done it twice, and as long as you sing/clap the entire time, she takes it like a champ.

Just had to share this photo of her with her little baby breathing mask on....  She kept her mouth open like that the whole time!

If you ever have to do this for your child, I strongly recommend the beanie- it keeps the little elastic from slipping!

Too much good stuff!

Lately, there's been so much going on that I want to share!  However, we've been so busy DOING the aforementioned stuff, that I have not had time to share it!

Then, there's moments like tonight that end up trumping posts I had planned.  I just have to document this stuff as it happens (like the Beatles songs she's making up) or we're sure to forget it as time goes on.

So, that being said:

Tonight at bedtime, Ryan and I were tucking Jillian in.  At night she is allowed to pick two books to take into bed with her.  When she asks for more, we tell her, "nope, just two books because you are two years old."  She often looks forward to when she "is three and can have THREE books at bed time."  ;)

Tonight she said:

"When I'm three, I can have three books in my bed."
That's right Jillian.
"And, when I'm four, I can have four books!!!....
Hey! When I'm ALL the numbers, I can have ALL the books!!!!!!!"

Oh boy was she excited!!  We just love watching her connect the dots!

Here's a photo of Jillian with two of her favorite books right now:
And, just because I can't resist sharing it, here's our sassy girl on the way to ballet this afternoon:
