You're on your way to the beach... Hmm. What to pack... Sunscreen? Check. Towels? Check. Sand toys? Got em. I've got water, food, bathing suits, an umbrella, blanket... what am I forgetting?
Oh. Rain Boots.
How silly of me!

A few weeks ago we were getting ready to go to the beach and Jillian strutted out in this get up. Boy oh boy! We had just gotten these boots (which are Crocs brand and although they cost way too much $, I'd say they were worth it because they are a solid pink so they match a lot more stuff, AND they are about 2lbs lighter than any other rain boot I've seen, so I think they are easy for her to wear, and quite comfy.) Anyway- forgive me, I'm totally rationalizing a splurge purchase!
Anyway- she looked SO darn cute that I caved and told her she could wear them to the beach.
I had NO IDEA at the time what a GREAT idea it was! Seriously. Amazing.
Zero sand under her feet while we hiked to the water. Zero whining that the sand was hot, and zero stopping for her to "empty her flip flops" only to stand back up and look completely frustrated with the whole situation.
So, you might have thought I was teasing, but I'm not. I'll do my best to never go to the beach without rain boots again!
Oh, and french braids are a must as well:

(That cute little tush is pretty priceless too)
Unrelated to this post, I've been told I'm a bit of a blog slacker lately. I know. I take pictures like the above series, and I mean to put the story on here, but alas, there's only so many hours in the day. I hope you'll give me some slack though, and rest assured once Liv turns one (Aug. 20th? How could that BE?) I'll stop the weekly updates on her blog (link), and have a little more time for the family blog.
:) Nancy
