Liv's 3rd Birthday

I was making a birthday book for Liv and realized I never finished/published her letter from her birthday 6 months ago?!?  What happened!  Better late than never!  It's interesting to see what I wrote and realize how much of it has changed (dramatically) in just 6 months!


Liv:

I can't believe you are already turning 3 years old.  You are such a wonderful little girl.  It is so great to watch as you develop into your own little unique self.  You're perfectly you.

You love to cook and help in the kitchen. Whenever we check on things that are baking in the oven you wait for me to bend down and create a little seat for you with my legs so you can plop down on me to relax and get a good view.  You're so patient.  I feel as though (if my legs didn't start cramping up!) you would sit there the whole 19 minutes watching cupcakes (or anything) rise and bake.  -smile-

On the day you turned three you can count to about 12.  Your favorite color is yellow. Your favorite foods (according to you) are yogurt, cheese, and candy.  You also say you like carrots and broccoli but I'm not so sure about that.  :) I do know you like almost any kind of fruit (avocados being high on the list!) and sugar snap peas.

I just read your 2 year old birthday letter- you've come a long way from a little girl who was not potty trained, still sucked her thumb and was just starting to use sentences! You talk all the time, potty trained through the day and night by the time you were 2 and a half, and have cut way down on thumb sucking.  The only time we see you doing it now is while you are asleep.  You are sleeping in a big girl bed and you are wonderful with your bedtime routine.

You are still stubborn to do things on command- you DO NOT have any interest in saying your ABC's.  I think you know them, but honestly I'm not sure!  You're starting to learn the lyrics to many traditional nursery rhymes and really enjoy singing those as well as making up songs of your own.

This is the first year you are going into Washington DC with Mommy and Daddy to see a monument.  My oh my how big you feel about this.  You were very excited.  It's so sweet to watch your little wheels turn...  you're adorable.

You like: to cook, to play dress up, to follow Jillian around and copy anything she says or does, to play with your brother, to cuddle and read, to go grocery shopping, and to sit outside and watch your sister play.

We like: Your sweet little smile, your sparkly eyes, your stubborn yet obedient personality, the way you look when you run down the hallway naked, and how loud your feet hit the floor when you walk.

Our whole family is looking forward to watching you as your grow this year- you're such a fun little person.  I adore you.
