Soaking in the moment...

I realize I should be posting this along side an adorable photo of our girls playing in the bathtub, or wrapped up in their towels but I don't have a super recent one. Tonight when I was thinking about it, I decided against running for my camera and opted instead to soak in the moment (and then document it here in my 'journal' so I hopefully don't forget about it anytime soon.

Every night after bath time, my heart practically bursts I'm so in love with our kids. I'm not sure if it's because they smell like this:

(it certainly can't hurt!) ;)

or if it's because of the way their eyelashes stick together when they're wet, and their perfect sweet little bodies glisten with water, or the belly laughs either girl will give me when I smoosh her face/belly with a towel, or how little I always think they look in pajamas... I guess a combo of all those things, and many more.

In short, I love kids fresh out of the bath. So. So. Much.

Anyone else share this feeling???

I could not agree with you more! I LOVE smelling Maddens hair every night when he gets out of the bath while he sits on my lap and we read books just before bedtime. Plus babies do always look extra cute in their pj's...don't know why. they just do :)

Bathing babies is a timeless joy. The Child's Bath, (Mary Cassatt) is a favorite painting of mine. Sleeping children are also magical - both are the perfect ending to the day.

TOTALLY. Wet babies are so yummy. Snuggles after dressed and wet heads getting your chest damp is so sweet. You are the exact same as me, I have to hold myself down to not lose the moment by running out to capture the moment. And words CAN do that. Proud of you, I know how hard that can be. :)

Clean and almost ready for bed. A delightful time to end an active and blessed day.
